This is a really great book! I usually read biographies and autobiographies so this is the first "Romantic Fantasy" I have ever read, the characters are so well developed that it all made perfect sense, and I could not put it down. This book makes me want to start a book club with this title as our first book ! If you are looking for a lovely story in which you are so rooting for the characters, this is it . It is also a great book to help you turn off all the business of the day , crawl into this story and then a wonderful nights sleep !Product details

Romantic fantasy fiction is not my usual genre i'm more of a science and history reader. But I found that I couldn't put this book down.
It has a love story that spans centuries, joined together with magic both good and evil. It is a sweetly told tale, gentle and not the least bit 'sappy'. No bodice-ripping here, just simple attachment growing into love in the face of very different cultures.
The characters are well developed. The author has a clear, clean writing style that reveals the narrative in a way that captures the reader's interest and doesn't let go.
When I hit the last page on my , I kept poking it and poking it, not wanting the story to end.
It has also spurred me to read up on the history of Britain, as if trying to add more to the story.
I highly recommend this book!

I absolutely fell in love with this book! It's so different and I absolutely loved every second of it. I really hope there is a second book!!!
I was really surprised at what a good book it was. This is the first book I have read by Beth and I am really hoping for more in the future. You couldn't help but care about the characters and she developed them very well as the story went along. I love some romance mixed with humor and she had a good way of having you see something for the first time through the character's eyes. Some Authors bog you down with too much detail but this had a very good balance to it. It was good light reading and I would recomend it to anyone.
I began reading this book after my husband and I got home from dinner. It is now 2 am-- I couldn't stop reading until I finished it. I enjoyed it very much and will be sad tomorrow that I am done reading it. Excellent story of love and excitement with humor sprinkled in!
This first book by Warstadt shows her ability to combine romance and fantasy for any reader. The characters are believable, and I found myself completely engrossed in the vivid descriptions of the numerous settings. I definitely recommend this novel to anyone who loves a great romance! I hope there will be a sequel soon!!!
The concept of Soul Lost was original and not your typical time travel romance.Ms. Warstadt presented a realistic medieval setting that was educational as well as entertaining. I appreciated that the book didn't insult the reader's intelligence as so many time travel romances do. The characters were well developed and I would love to read more about Alfred and Isabel. A very well-written first novel and I look forward to Beth Warstadt's future books.
